Paula has been outspoken in her campaign to find and eliminate waste and corruption in county government. Over the past decade, Paula has saved taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars by forcing government agencies and government-funded agencies to cut unneeded programs and padded expenses. The money saved by these efforts is then available to fund well-run essential programs.

Paula also supported the Valley-Hi nursing home tax rebate, which returned over $8 million to local property owners. The rebate program protected Valley-Hi's ability to fund future programs and capital improvements, while giving tax payers a badly need break.

Paula uncovered excess salaries, excessive legal bills, and fiscal irregularities at local non-profits that in some cases violated IRS guidelines for 501(c)3 organizations. Good government depends on diligent oversight and the courage to speak out.
